Is Narcotics Anonymous for me?  This is the question that each and every potential member of NA must answer themselves.  Narcotics Anonymous has some IPs (information pamphlets) available to help with this process.  A great place to start is with the IPs “Am I an addict?” and “Welcome to NA”.

There are some really important things to keep in mind when it comes to NA.  A few of those, for a potential member, would be:

• The NA message is that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live. Our message is hope and the promise of freedom.” Basic Text, page 65
• NA is a worldwide program!
• Narcotics Anonymous does not focus on one particular drug, we focus on the disease of addiction.
• When new members of NA attend meetings they are the most important person in the room. Our sole focus is to be sure they hear the lifesaving message of NA and how we can help!
